"I don't like it." stated Carlos. "I have a bad feeling about it."

"So do I" agreed Trent.

"It's too dangerous, Kelly." added Carlos, referring to Kelly's latest undercover case.

"C'mon fellows. I can take care of myself. Besides, it's the only way to catch this guy." Kelly responded.

"Maybe, but we still don't have like it." Carlos fired back.

"Look, I promise to be extra careful. Okay?" pleaded Kelly. "Anyway, Walker and Trivette are going to be there to back me up."

"Okay, I guess." stated Trent.

"We'll, I'll agree on one condition." Carlos said with a mischievous grin.

"And what would that be?" asked Kelly smiling.

"That you have dinner with me tonight."

"That's the only way you'll let me go?" teased Kelly.

"That's it."

"Well, I guess I could agree to that." answered Kelly, smiling.

It had been a month since Kelly had returned to Dallas. It had been a difficult reunion; but all the pain seem to be behind them and the three have resumed their friendship. Neither would have believed it, but Carlos and Kelly were able to pick up from where they left off five years ago. Even so, they had decided to take it slow to make sure they could rebuild the bridges that they had burned. It was going very well.

"You'd better agree! 'Cause I'm going to pick you up at 7:00 tonight." directed Carlos.

"Yes sir!" Kelly responded, saluting.

"You two are nuts, you know that?" Trent said laughing. He was glad to see the both of them happy again, especially Carlos. Carlos' heart had been broken when Kelly left without a word five years ago. But Carlos had been happier in the last month than he had seen him in years.

"Takes one to know one" responded Carlos. "C'mon lets go get some lunch."

"Good morning" greeted Kelly. Kelly had to meet with Walker, Trivette, and Alex for a briefing. The other three had already arrived.

"Morning. Are you ready for this?" asked Walker.

"As ready as I'll ever be." answered Kelly.

"Carlos called a few minutes ago. He said to remember your agreement." Alex told her. "What agreement?"

"Carlos and Trent were concerned about this assignment, so I promised them that I would be extra careful. Carlos agreed to let me go through with it only if I would go to dinner with him last night." Kelly answered. "Actually, it was more like blackmail." Kelly added, grinning.

"Maybe you should arrest him," Walker joked.

"Did you have a good time?" asked Alex smiling.

"Yes, I did. But aren't we here to discuss my assignment instead of my love life?" Kelly said, trying to change the subject.

"Yes, we are; but you're love life is more interesting," Trivette replied, joining in on the fun.

"Okay. Kelly's right. Let's back to the job at hand," interrupted Walker. "Now here's how it will go down......"

"Carlos, you're not concentrating." chided Trent. Trent was giving Carlos another Karate lesson, but Carlos had ended up on the ground for the tenth time.

"I'm sorry"

"What's bothering you?"

After pausing to catch his breath, Carlos answered, "I've still got that feeling. Like something bad is going to happen."

"Is this about Kelly's current assignment?" Trent asked. Carlos nodded.

"I didn't want to say anything, but I've got the same feeling." Trent admitted reluctantly.

"What are we supposed to do? We can't interfere with a police investigation based on a feeling." stated Carlos, frustrated.

"I know. But maybe we could talk to Walker. He'd know what to do."

"Let's do it."

Kelly had infiltrated a local drug cartel. The Rangers were after the supplier, Juan Ortiz. He rarely entered the United States, but a big deal was going down soon and he was coming personally. It would be there only chance to capture him. After showing up at the cartel's headquarters around 10:00 a.m., she discovered that the exchange would go down in warehouse downtown today at 11:00 a.m. Kelly had barely gotten word to Walker in time. She hoped that he'd had enough time to set a trap outside the warehouse. She and the other cartel members arrived at the warehouse at exactly 10:55 a.m. Within two minutes a long limousine pulled up outside. The supplier walked in with four bodyguards. Kelly froze. One of the guards was a drug dealer by the name of John "Blackjack" Riggs that she had arrested in LA about three years ago. She backed up into the shadows hoping he would not recognize her.

"Welcome to Dallas" greeted Cortez, the leader of the local cartel.

"Good to see you again" responded Ortiz.

"Got the stuff?"

"You got the money?"

"A simultaneous exchange?" offered Cortez.

"Agreed"

"Rose [Kelly] bring the money" directed Cortez.

As soon as Kelly stepped out of the shadows, she knew that Blackjack had recognized her.

"What's going on here?" shouted Blackjack. "She's a cop!"

"What?" asked Cortez astonished.

Taking advantage of their shock, Kelly made her move. She slung the suitcase at Cortez's two guards knocking them out. Then she threw the suitcase at Cortez knocking him to the ground and ran She crawled into a small corner between some crates left in the warehouse.

"This is the Texas Rangers! You in the warehouse, come out with your hands up, you're surrounded!" yelled Walker over the megaphone.

"Rangers! Let's get out of here!" yelled Blackjack.

"Not before we get rid of this stuff!" shouted Ortiz.

Kelly watched as he took out a match and lit it."NOOOO!" she screamed.

"Step on it!" said Carlos. "It should be going down now."

"I'm going as fast as I can!" Trent responded. "We're just lucky Alex agreed to tell us what warehouse."

When they went to talk to Walker, Alex told them that Kelly had called and the deal was about to go down. Walker and the task force were on their way. All of a sudden, that nagging "feeling" that they had both had turned into pure fear. So they persuaded Alex to tell them which warehouse.

"Let's go in!" shouted Walker. About that time an explosion rocked the area.

Trent parked behind the police barricade. Just as he and Carlos were getting out of the car there was an explosion.

"Kelly," whispered Carlos in shock.

Just as Walker and the task force were about to go in, Carlos and Trent came running up. "Walker, let us go too" pleaded Carlos. "Kelly's in there."

"All right," answered Walker. "But don't take any chances."

When Walker, Carlos, and Trent got inside there was no sign of Kelly. Several of the drug dealers were alive but unconscious. The officers went about trying to get everyone out of the warehouse. Trent and Carlos assisted in getting everyone out. After 10 minutes, everyone was accounted for...except Kelly and Ortiz. "Where is she?" questioned Carlos who was on the verge of panicking.

"Where's who?" a voice asked behind him.

"Kelly!"

Kelly was coming toward them pushing Juan Ortiz along in front of her. She turned him over to a uniformed officer standing nearby.

"Are you okay?" asked Carlos.

"I'm fine."

"Thank God," Carlos said as he picked her up and swung her around.

"Kelly, you had us worried. What happened?" Trent asked.

"Ortiz was going to set the warehouse on fire. When he lit the match, I screamed and it startled him. He dropped the match. Then he made a break for it and I chased him. I was already out of the warehouse before it blew."

"You were lucky" stated Trent.

"I know."

"We told you this was too dangerous." scolded Carlos. "But you were stubborn."

"And I told you that I can take care of myself."

"Well, maybe next time you'll listen to us."

"I have to agree with Carlos on this." added Trent.

"That's it, gang up on me." replied Kelly. "But, really, guys, thanks for being concerned."

"How about a ride after you finish up here?" Trent asked.

"Thanks, I'd appreciate it."

"Great, I'll go move the car out of the way of the police."

As Kelly started to walk over to Walker and the other officers to give her statement, Carlos grabbed her arm and pulled her back.

"What is it?" she asked him.

"Just this." Carlos then pulled her to him and kissed her soundly.

"What was that for?" Kelly asked.

"For coming out of this alive."

"Believe me, I try to make a habit of it."

"Good." grinned Carlos, bending down to kiss her again.
